Auction campaigns

A firm date, a competitive room and a licensed auctioneer, run properly and explained plainly before you commit to it.

From
$650 to $950
Takes
4 to 5 week campaign, auction on site or in rooms

An auction suits a property likely to attract more than one serious buyer, a renovator's opportunity or a home with genuine points of difference the peninsula does not see often. We run a four to five week campaign building to a set date, on site or in rooms, with a licensed auctioneer and a reserve agreed with you in writing beforehand. We keep the process light where we can, but nothing about the paperwork or the reserve gets treated casually.

What is included

  • A four to five week campaign building to a fixed auction date
  • A licensed auctioneer and a reserve price agreed with you in writing
  • Weekly updates on buyer interest and registered bidders
  • A clear plan for what happens if it passes in

02How it runs

Step by step, in this order

Typical time: 4 to 5 week campaign, auction on site or in rooms. You are told which step you are on.

  1. 01 Agree the auction date and the marketing package at listing
  2. 02 Run the campaign with open homes and private inspections
  3. 03 Confirm the reserve with you the week before auction
  4. 04 Conduct the auction on site or in rooms with a licensed auctioneer
  5. 05 Negotiate with registered bidders on the day if it passes in

03Asked often

Before you book

Not here? It might be on the FAQ page, and if not, ring and ask.

What happens if the property does not sell under the hammer?

Most auctions that pass in still sell, usually through negotiation with a registered bidder in the days after. We agree that plan with you before auction day, not on it.

Do I have to reveal the reserve?

No, that stays confidential unless you decide otherwise. It is set with you in writing and only shared with registered bidders if the property passes in and you choose to.

Is auction always dearer than private treaty?

Not necessarily, the auctioneer's fee is separate from commission, and commission is the same either way. We will tell you plainly if your property suits auction or if private treaty makes more sense.
